Shindokan Dojo is a traditional budo dojo located in Stonington, Connecticut, proudly serving the surrounding areas of Mystic, Groton, Westerly, and beyond. We are dedicated to embodying the values and virtues of authentic Japanese budo, while promoting its practice throughout the greater New England region. Our dojo offers authentic martial arts that trace their verifiable lineages back to the samurai class of feudal Japan, passed down through direct transmission from teacher to student, from heart to heart.

At Shindokan Dojo, our instructors are highly trained and experienced practitioners who are passionate about sharing and training in the martial arts we practice. Serving the communities of Groton, Mystic, Stonington, and Westerly, they provide personalized attention and guidance to each student, helping them improve their technique and reach their full potential. Our instructors are committed to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment for all students engaged in martial arts.
While we are a public dojo, we understand that the martial traditions we practice are invaluable treasures that serve as pathways to unlocking our highest life potential. In keeping with tradition, admission to our dojo requires an interview with the Chief Instructor and a probationary period to ensure a proper fit for both the potential student and the dojo. We welcome all inquiries and look forward to walking this path with you.
